Everything should be perfect for the 35th anniversary of the AlpenStrand outdoor shop: perfectly presented merchandise, perfect store layout and, of course, perfect lighting. “In visual merchandising, light is more than important,” explains Managing Director Katja Mendel. “After the presentation of the goods, it comes first.”
The passage with the four free-standing showcases in the middle of the city center takes on a special meaning. They are the figurehead of AlpenStrand. “Over the years, various light sources with different brightness, light colours and lamps have accumulated,” explains Benjamin Garufo, General Manager Retail Lighting at ledxon. “With the installation of our tracklights, we have achieved an amortisation of less than one year.”
Another challenge was that there is no back wall but only four fully glazed sides. In order to be able to illuminate all areas of the showcases, ledxon chose different beam angles of 50 and 24 degrees and aligned them accordingly in the light setting.
Twenty-four hours a day, the passage should attract the attention of potential customers. “It is the screen of our company, so to speak,” says Katja Mendel. Because consulting plays a decisive role, especially in the outdoor segment, AlpenStrand is a pure offline dealer. It is therefore all the more important to present the showcases as attractively as possible.
Particularly in the evening, when it gets dark outside, the AlpenStrandler hope that the brightly lit glass stages become a magnet for strolling passers-by.
